SUMMARY:SUPER Extra Exclusive (1.26.19) ~DDR World Tournament 2~
DESCRIPTION:Dear All DDR Players:The 8th KAC qualifying round has concluded\, the rules have been announced\, and players from all around the globe are anticipating the big event on Sunday\, January 27th at the JAEPO convention in Japan. However\, The Konami Arcade Championships only allow a handful of players to compete\, and while many have already secured their travel plans to visit Japan to cheer on their friends and show support\, tradition would dictate that another event will be shaking Tokyo to its core…\nSUPER. Extra. Exclusive!\nA REAL tournament\, where the greatest DDR players of the world can duke it out in the heart of Japan!\nOn Saturday\, the day before KAC\, we will be holding a 32-man single and double elimination Singles tournament AND gauntlet-style Doubles tournament at Eternal Amusement Tower in Akihabara. \nWe will be renting the 8th floor of the building (for real this time!) where we will have an entire floor dedicated to a DDR A white cabinet to run and stream the event! There will be PLENTY of leg room!\n[Location]\nEternal Amusement Tower\, Akihabara – 8th Floor\n[Time]\nSaturday\, January 26th @ 11AM\n[Rules]\n*SINGLES*\nThe Singles division will be a 32-man single/double elimination tournament.\nThe first 2 rounds will be single elimination.\nThe 3rd round and beyond will be double elimination.\nThe top 4 finals will be Round Robin style.\nSeeding:\nThe top 32 overall rankers for The 8th KAC qualifying period will get a free bye into the tournament for their respective slots. As a handful of these players will not be attending or competing in this event\, the remaining bottom slots will be available for players to compete for via a qualifying set to be submitted prior to the event.\nQualifiers:\nA qualifying set will be used to determine who will fill remaining seeds in the top 32. The cutoff for submitting scores will be January 20th. Simply take a photo of your set and post here or Tweet your photo with the hashtag #extraexclusive2019 by the cutoff date.\nAll players are encouraged to submit qualifying scores!\nQualifier songs:\n・S!ck ESP Lv16\n・PARANOiA-Respect- ESP Lv16\nPlay a set that includes these 2 songs. Your set may be played in any order\, and you can replay any song within that set. If you get Extra Stage\, you are welcome to replay any of the songs once more. The higher of each of the 2 songs’ scores will be counted. Take a photo of the grand results screen for your set. As such\, machine score will be used.\nTournament:\nThe first two rounds will be a 4-song card draw using a custom card draw application. Each player vetoes 1 song\, with the higher seed deciding pad or veto order. The players will play the remaining 2 songs in the order drawn. The winner will be decided via total EX of the 2 songs.\nThe third and semi-final rounds will be 5-song card draw. Each player will then select 1 song to PROTECT\, and 1 song to veto (a protected song cannot be vetoed by the other player). The higher seed will decide pad\, or who decides veto/protect order. The 2 protected songs and the remaining song will be used to decide the 3-song match.\nThe finals will be a 7-song card draw\, with each player selecting 1 song to protect and 1 song to veto. The remaining 5 songs will be played\, with the first player to reach 3 song victories winning the match.\n*Songs will be played in the order drawn unless both players agree to play in order of ascending difficulty.\n*If the same song is drawn twice with different difficulties\, the 2nd draw of the song will be redrawn to prevent a single song weighing heavier on a single match than another.\n*If both players agree\, they may redraw the songs for a new set of songs once.\nAll rounds will be ESP/CSP only.\nRound 1: 13-17 (weighted 15%\, 20%\, 30%\, 20%\, 15%)\nRound 2: 14-18 (weighted 15%\, 20%\, 30%\, 20%\, 15%)\nRound 3: 15-19 (weighted 15%\, 34%\, 34%\, 15%\, 2%)\nSemi-finals: 16-19 (weighted 30%\, 35%\, 30%\, 5%)\nFinals: 17-19 (weighted 40%\, 50%\, 10%)\nPad side will be chosen by higher seed. As of this time\, there will be no arbitration.\nAll rounds will be strictly EX score based.\nScoring for Rounds 1 and 2 will be best total EX of 2 songs (cumulative).\nScoring for Round 3 and Semi-finals will be best 2 out of 3 (not cumulative).\nGrand finals will be top 2 of winners bracket and top 2 of losers bracket moving into a Round Robin competition. Matches will be best 3 out of 5 (not cumulative).\n*During the Top 8\, competitors will be given 1 warm-up song before their set begins. During grand finals\, competitors will be given up to 2 warm-up songs before their set begins.\nThe Round Robin Grand Finals will be played in the following order\, with 1 & 2 being the winners of the winners’ bracket\, and 3 & 4 being the winners of the losers’ bracket.\nFinals order:\n3 vs 4\n2 vs 4\n1 vs 3\n1 vs 4\n2 vs 3\n1 vs 2\nThis way the winners of losers’ play first\, the winners of winners’ play last\, and no player is forced to play more than 2 matches back to back.\nThe player with the most victories is the champion!\n*In the event of a tie\, the player with the least number of losses during the Round Robin will take priority.\n[Notice]\nAll rules are subject to change\, and any changes will be promptly announced\, so please check back periodically leading up to the event. The general structure of the event\, date\, and location will not change.\n[Rules]\n*DOUBLES*\nThe Doubles division will be a gauntlet-style tournament.\nAll players will play the same song(s)\, with the highest scores moving further in the tournament.\nThe first round will act as a qualifier to make Top 8.\nThe top 4 scores of Top 8 will make Top 4.\nThe top 2 scores of Top 4 will make the Grand Finals.\nGrand Finals will be best 2 out of 3.\nSeeding:\nSeeding will be determined by a qualifier played on the day of the event\, on the 4th Floor of Eternal Amusement Tower on the red DDR Ace cabinet. There will be no entry fee for the Doubles event\, but players must pay their own game to qualify. The qualifying period will be from 11AM until the Singles tournament finishes.
