Following in the footsteps of in-person all-women’s dance game events like Girlpocalypse and traditional Pump It Up events, Mistake on the Lake 2: Strong Woman becomes the first in-person all-women’s DDR tournament in recent history, hosted by OhioDDR with Emily Auten (Emcat) as the Tournament Organizer. The goal of the event was to encourage and inspire women to enter the competitive scene in a safe and friendly environment apart from the usual male-dominant tournament.

MotL2: Strong Woman took place on May 5th, 2019 the Sunday after the main MotL2 tournament at Round 1 Mentor, OH. There were 9 total entrants, with some entrants being their first time participating and competing in a tournament. All competitors played through a four round gauntlet, each player picking a song each round with two of those songs being randomly selected to be played for that round. Bottom two EX scoring players were eliminated while the rest move on to the next round, continuing until two players are left where they play a best 2 out of 3 match card draw round.

Prizes were provided by Amber (@nuggety), Valkyrie Dimension, LIFE4, and OhioDDR. This included cash prizes for top 3 (special thanks to Amber), exclusive DDR merchandise, pins, LIFE4 hats, towels, and other prizes for all participants.
