Leon Charles Brunson (DrTwixMix) announced on May 31, 2020 that he would be performing a livestream on his Twitch channel to address the current events regarding the protests over the death of George Floyd, Black Lives Matter, and how to use a platform like Twitch to promote a positive message for the community. Additionally, Leon started a fundraiser with The Action Network’s Atlanta Solidarity Fund for this livestream event to support the people in Atlanta who had been arrested for taking action against social injustice.
Leon played StepMania and entertained donation goal incentives to help drive in more money for the fundraiser. By the time the livestream had concluded, the fundraiser had reached $6615.25 in donations, and then $7730.23 by the next morning.
